From 2020 - 2024, I was involved with designing custom furniture pieces for Google's Playa Vista office; The Spruce Goose. Measuring 750 feet (229 meters) in length, this facility was built for the construction of the H-4 Hercules airplane, nicknamed the Spruce Goose due to its massive size and wooden structure.
Since their grand opening in 2018, Google has periodically "spruced" up this office, providing me with the opportunity to work alongside the architects at ZGF. Together, we designed several custom ancillary pieces for their truly one of a kind office space which incorporated a refined modern luxury aesthetic in homage to the aviation and film influence of Howard Hughes; the aerospace engineer, business magnate, film producer, investor, philanthropist, and pilot.
